Child Care Resource Series: Head Start

What is it?
Head Start programs serve three and four year old children.  Early Head Start programs serve pregnant women and children from birth to three years old.  In order to be eligible to participate in Head Start, families must have an income below the Federal Poverty Guidelines.


Do I qualify?
Children of households already receiving TANF or SSI, or those in foster care, are eligible automatically. Otherwise, families are deemed eligible based on income.
